There comes a time when your equipment/machinery may not be working as reliably as it used to, parts may break down, equipment may slow down, or it may simply not be moving with the times and allowing you to do the things you now need to do. When this happens, you may have to make a decision as to whether you replace old with new. However replacing old machinery can be extremely expensive. Then you have to factor in training on top of new equipment expense.
So what’s the answer?
Purchasing new machinery isn’t always necessary. Refurbishing your existing equipment to replace “problem parts” and get your equipment running reliably is one solution. Or if you are looking for an enhancement to allow your machinery to take on new tasks to help you speed up production and increase productivity then a redesign of the equipment may be in order. A third option is to buy second hand machinery. For more information read on.
If a refurbishment is required, Tech Ltd can carry out an initial survey and establish which areas/parts of your machine require repair or replacement. Your machine is then stripped down and cleaned and refurbished to your requirements. It’s surprising what a good clean and the replacement of a few components can make to the working condition of your equipment.
Refurbishment work can be undertaken either at your site or in our workshop – whichever best meets your needs.
If you are looking to redesign your machinery our team of design engineers can review any production problems you may have and work together with you to find a solution. Some redesigns that we’ve carried out include bespoke counters which can be employed across a wide range of packaging and printing businesses and processes, a mailing machine to register for a change in postcode (helpful for batching), a device to automatically open flaps on envelopes, detection systems, warning systems and safety systems.
With our extensive and specialist experience and knowledge, we will find the most cost effective solution. All work is carried out with minimal downtime, saving you both time and money!
Second Hand Machinery Survey
A third option may be to buy second hand machinery if you think that none of your existing equipment will meet a new need. In this situation, and in order to avoid making an expensive mistake, our engineers can provide advice by carrying out a survey on the condition of the equipment before you buy. We would examine the machine and produce a report along with any recommendations for work that would need to be done to bring the machine back into production, giving you peace of mind that you are making a sound investment.
